Hi Everyone,
My name is Madeline Cattell, Justin’s Mom, and I will be the room parent for Mrs.
Lovell’s second grade class. The second grade room parents and teachers have an
exciting year planned, with lots of opportunities for everyone to get involved.
As room parent, my responsibilities include Planning Class Parties, the first of
which is Halloween. Look for a flyer this week in your child’s backpack. Other parties
include Thanksgiving, the December Holidays, and the end of year 2nd Grade Mexican
Fiesta. If anyone likes to take photos, and would like to volunteer to take pictures
during these events, we encourage you to come in and photograph the class. The yearbook
is always looking for great pictures, and if your pictures are digital, it’s a fun
way to share via email with other parents who may have missed the event.
Another
of my responsibilities is collecting for teacher gifts. Upcoming, we have Mrs. Lovell’s
birthday in November, and the December Holiday. The suggested donation for a class
gift is $10 per student which will cover both gifts. If you would like to donate
more, please feel free. If $10 is not possible, please give whatever you can. You
can enclose cash or check in the attached envelope and send it to school in your
child’s folder. I will have a collection box in Mrs. Lovell’s classroom. A reminder
will be sent home in November. I will collect for an end of year gift in the spring.
This year we are really hoping to develop and utilize the school’s website: www.mycentervilleschool.com
Check out the brand new format and check back frequently for new updates. Also,
the school directory should be ready within the next couple of weeks. I would love
to be able to communicate with everyone via email, but realize that all of you may
not have internet access. I will put an email group together for our class for quick
communications and reminders, but will send home paper for big events such as class
parties.
If anyone has any ideas they would like to share or if you are interested
in helping out in any way, please feel free to contact me! There is a lot to do
in order to make it all happen, and I welcome everyone’s help! It’s going to be
a great year!!!
